In continuation of its mission to empower the artisan community of Jammu & Kashmir, Tabeeb Handicrafts Producer Company Limited conducted the second batch of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under the National Handicraft Development Programme (NHDP). This six-day initiative offered a mix of training, mentorship, and exposure to business strategies tailored for rural artisans.
Build Business Acumen: Provide artisans with insights into cost structures, pricing, and profitability.
Develop Enterprise Thinking: Instill an entrepreneurial mindset among craftspeople.
Introduce Digital Tools: Train artisans on leveraging mobile and online platforms for sales and branding.
Raise Awareness of Support Schemes: Educate participants on schemes available under NHDP and other government bodies.
Promote Financial Literacy: Teach the basics of recordkeeping, saving, and investing in small businesses.
Trainer Talks: Sessions led by experts and motivational speakers with real-world craft business experience.
Participant Engagement: Practical activities such as group business planning and mock pitch presentations.
Q&A Interaction: Trainers addressed participants’ individual challenges in scaling craft-based enterprises.
Empowerment Discussions: Special focus on women artisans and their role in Kashmir’s creative economy.
Recognition: Certificates of Participation awarded by the Ministry of Textiles, GOI.

Tabeeb Handicrafts, founded in November 2022, is an artisan-led company registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act. Based in Magam, Baramulla, and driven by visionary directors, the organization is dedicated to preserving Kashmir’s age-old crafts like Sozni embroidery while enabling artisans to achieve financial independence through organized platforms and regular skill-based training programmes.
